Overview: It was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or was it?
Leaving his life behind in search for something new, John heads North. The winding mountain roads take him up above his home of Station City, Colorado, and it is there that he has a fateful encounter that changes his life forever. He witnesses something ahead in the bend of the road. Flashes of light dancing in the sky before him, then suddenly… a girl? He sees her for an instant, moving through the air like some kind of gymnast. Then, as quickly as she appeared, she’s gone. Before he can stop to think, another flash of light blinds him and everything goes dark.
He wakes up to find himself in the arms of a beautiful girl, an Angel. The Angel, a young girl named Aerin explains his situation – John is dead. He was caught in the crossfire in a magical battle between an Angel and a Demon, and unfortunately he was killed by a stray blast from none other than the Angel herself. Feeling guilty over her actions, Aerin snags John’s soul before he crosses over, heals his body, and tethers his spirit to hers. So long as Aerin is alive, John will also live. But there’s one problem, outside of the barrier the Angel has erected a Demon still lays in wait. There’s only one way for them to make it out of this in one piece, an ancient rite that could grant John powers to fight by Aerin’s side. He’ll become her Slayer – a Demon Hunter with the powers of an Angel.
As John raises his sword for the first time, what path will he choose? What road will he walk down, how long will he tread upon it, and will he see it through to the end?
